Today, I had the pleasure of inviting Lyra Gross to be my barista for the day. We dived into the world of coffee, exploring the importance of sustainability and traceability in sourcing high-quality beans. Lyra was prepping pour over and cold brew drinks, mastering the art of every cup. 🤓

We’ve been on an incredible journey with our friends Maria del Carmen and Francis from who produce and roast some of the finest Guatemalan coffees for us! 🌋

We’re proud to say we’re DIRECT TRADE partners for almost 3 years. We buy directly from them, supporting their local community roastery by roasting at Guatemala and then exporting their exceptional coffees. This partnership contributes to development in their community. 💡
We’re working with a stunning variety of coffees from their farm: Caturra, Catuai, Yellow & Red Bourbon, Gesha... and our newest, exclusive and available delight - Pink Bourbon! 💗

Introducing our name and logo🥁 El Conecte in Spanish can be slang for “the connect”, “the connection”, or “the plug” as we say in English. We are a direct link (El Conecte) between coffee growers/roasters and consumers.
The two C’s represent our name, and the coffee bean in the middle symbolizes the connection we make with every cup.

We celebrate our producers who, in the midst of climate change and market chaos, stand strong and committed to their craft. We honor their resilience, dedication, and passion for producing exceptional coffee. Together, we’re building a more equitable and sustainable coffee future, one cup at a time. 💪🏽

Our producers did their part, harvesting only the ripest and best cherries to ensure the highest quality. We are focusing on processing and roasting to bring out the full flavor and aroma. 🤓

We’re still in the midst of harvest season, which runs from December to April. 🍒
Our producers are working tirelessly to bring in the perfect coffee cherries.
They carefully select and harvest only the ripest cherries to ensure the best flavor.

During harvest season, at the end of each day, producers carefully transport their coffee cherries to either a wet or dry mill. 🛻

This marks the beginning of the coffee’s transformation, where it undergoes a rigorous process of cleaning, pulping, fermentation, and drying.

Every step is crucial in bringing out the unique flavors and aromas that Guatemalan coffee is known for! 🇬🇹

With a passion for quality and a love for the land, Brandon carefully selects the best cherries and proceses craftily and independently his coffee at home. 🍒
