*** Come for Democracy, stay for Rev. Rob’s blue beard - 6:30 - 8:30 ET / 3:30 - 5:30 PT ***

Join Reeb as we partner with the UU Justice Ministry of North Carolina. They're looking for help to reach poor and low-wealth, low-propensity voters across the nation and urge them to claim their voices and vote.

If Reeb can get 30 people from the All Souls community — including friends — those who participate will get to choose whether he (1) dyes his beard North Carolina blue or (2) has a bucket of ice water dumped on him!

Text banking is EASY and EFFICIENT. Text banking apps allow you to send pre-scripted text messages with nonpartisan voting information with a touch of your thumb. The text banking app also masks your number and manages your replies. For example, one person can send 3,000 texts in 30 minutes and have 30 replies to manage. Reeb members can text bank while watching movies! It is that EASY.

*** Postcard Opportunity!! Get out the vote in NC!! ***

Reeb will be joining get-out-the-vote ("GOTV") efforts in North Carolina given our long history supporting voting rights there. Our efforts are especially important given recent, heightened concerns about voter suppression and gerrymandering.

Our longstanding partner in this effort is Reclaim Our Vote (now affiliated with the Center for Commonground). Our mutual goal is to educate and empower underrepresented voters in voter suppression states to engage in elections and advocate for their right to vote.

Reclaim Our Vote's goal is to reach 400,000 black voters in North Carolina prior to their primary on May 17th. Early voting in North Carolina runs from April 28 to May 14.

*** UU the Vote in 2022!! Sunday @2 pm, All Souls ***

Please join Reeb Voting Rights Project (All Souls) and the UUtheVote team (UU Church of Arlington Virginia) to learn about meaningful actions you can take to make a difference. For UUs, protecting the rights of all people to have a voice and a vote is living our UU values.

At the meeting we'll hear from two powerful advocates: (1) Nicole Pressley, Field and Programs Director of the national UU Side with Love Action Center (UUtheVote), and (2) Andrea Miller, Founding Board Member, Center for Common Ground/Reclaim Our Vote.

Both will speak to their organization's 2022 vision to empower under-represented voters to fully participate in elections.
