Today, in Chiles v. Salazar, the Supreme Court weakened protections for LGBTQ+ youth by treating conversion therapy as protected speech instead of a harmful, discredited practice.
Make no mistake, this ruling is not a verdict on whether it is safe or effective. It is not. All major medical and mental health associations agree these practices are dangerous, ineffective, and cause serious harm to LGBTQ+ youth.
