KAAOS Training

I am a fitness professional! I am a master powerlifter! I am a coach! I am a personal trainer! And know I am an author!
I never thought I'd write a book. Honestly, becoming an author was never part of my plan. Then my cousin, Tina Gee, a published author, gave me some advice that changed everything.
She said, "Just write. Don't think about it-just write."
My response? "I don't know..."
I wasn't sure I had a story worth telling. But I trusted her advice.
I started writing one page at a time, one thought at a time, one memory at a time.
Two years later...
I was holding the complete manuscript for The Silent Fathers: The Untold Story of Men Who Stayed, Sacrificed, and Were Never Seen.
Sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in you before you believe in yourself.
Thank you, Tina, for pushing me to tell a story that needed to be told.
I hope this book gives a voice to the fathers who stayed, sacrificed, and kept showing up-even when nobody noticed.
Sometimes the best journeys begin with two simple words: "Just write."

Here are some of the biggest reasons people see competition as a bad thing:
2. Past Negative Experiences
Some people had bad experiences with:
Overly aggressive coaches
Parents putting too much pressure on winning
Being embarrassed in sports or school
Toxic workplaces
Those experiences can make competition feel stressful instead of motivating.

Here are some of the biggest reasons people see competition as a bad thing:
1. Fear of Losing
Many people associate competition with failure.
If I lose, I'm not good enough.
If someone beats me, I'm behind in life.
Losing can hurt the ego, so some people avoid competition altogether.

"I'm only competing against myself."
Sometimes that's growth. Sometimes that's an excuse.
Because if you never test yourself against a standard, another athlete, or a challenge that can beat you, how do you know what you're capable of?
Competition doesn't just reveal your strengths. It exposes your weaknesses.
It demands preparation. It eliminates excuses. I've been competing since 1985, and I can tell you this:
Some of my biggest improvements came because someone else pushed me beyond what I thought was possible. There's nothing wrong with competing against yourself.
But don't use it to avoid real competition. Comfort doesn't create champions. Competition does.
