In partnership with Union Market District, Gallaudet University y Nuestra Casa presents Maria Barinas de Leger Solo Exhibition which has opened on January 12 and runs until February 29, 2024.

Check out a selection of Maria's amazing portfolio of works on display at the Balcon at La Cosecha at 1280 4th Street NE, Washington DC 20002.

MarĂa Barinas de Leger, deaf artist, was born in the Dominican Republic and emigrated to the United States at the age of 7. She has been creating art her whole life, with recognition as an award winning child artist even when she was unable to attend the local schools in Santo Domingo due to being deaf. She specializes in landscapes, portraits, and still life, most often working with oil paint depicting life in little moments. Some paintings in this exhibition display life in the Dominican Republic or life in New York City/Connecticut with her children. Others are paintings from her imagination or experiments in artistic style.

Come and meet Maria on Friday, February 2 from 4-5pm at La Cosecha!
