Mehran Karimi Nasseri, an Iranian man, lived in Paris's Charles de Gaulle Airport for 18 years after losing his identification documents, leaving him unable to enter France or return home. During his time in Terminal 1, he studied, befriended staff, and wrote The Terminal Man, which later inspired Spielberg’s 2004 film The Terminal. Nasseri died in 2022 at the same airport, symbolizing a life caught in legal limbo.
