Hey Rule Breaker$!
Black Businesses Matter! ✊🏾
Our mission is centered around closing the racial wealth gap. Last February, released a report showing that the average net worth of whites families ($171,000) is nearly 10x that of black families ($17,150). 🤯
One way to help close the wealth gap is by supporting black business. Here are a few reasons why:
👷🏾♂️Creates more jobs within the community
🏘 Increased property ownership builds the community
💰 Creates the opportunity to build generational wealth
I challenge each of you to support 3 black businesses this month. Drop the name of your favorite black business to support in the comments! 💸💸

Today, we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In Harry Belafonte’s 2011 memoir, “My Song”, Belafonte recalled an exchange between Dr. King, Jr. and Ambassador Andrew Young, where Dr. King stated, “The trouble is that we live in a failed system. Capitalism does not permit an even flow of economic resources.
“With this system, a small privileged few are rich beyond conscience and almost all others are doomed to be poor at some level. That’s the way the system works. And since we know that the system will not change the rules, we’re going to have to change the system.”
Helping people understand the importance of financial literacy was very important to Dr. King. We founded Breaking Rule$ in that same spirit - to be a guide that helps you change the financial system in your favor. Our goal is to encourage financial independence and close the racial wealth gap.

Hey Rule Breaker$!
On Monday, we asked you to pull your credit and bank statements for the past three months to analyze your spending habits. Today, we want you to review those statements and determine what your due dates are for all of your bills. You can mark those dates on a paper calendar, the calendar on your phone, or the one we’ve provided for you in our story.🗓
Once you’ve mapped out your upcoming payment dates, you’ll be able to see if some of your bills are due at the same time. If they are, ASK FOR A NEW DUE DATE! Now, you can’t do this with all of your bills, but most credit cards, utilities, and insurance companies can reschedule your due date.
No need to pay for everything the 1st week. Spread out your due dates so that you aren’t always playing catch up. 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏽♂️
