🥬 Imagine no more moldy produce lurking in your refrigerator!

BIKI, an Indonesia-based startup, is setting out to accomplish just that with Chitasil, an edible food coating. Chitasil can extend the shelf life of produce and reduce food loss and waste across multiple points along the value chain—post-harvest, processing and consumer.

In a huge milestone for BIKI, Indonesia’s FDA recently certified Chitasil as a food preservation additive that opened a much larger consumer market for the product through supermarket sales. This milestone was in part possible because of P4G’s introductions to key ecosystem stakeholders.

BIKI is now focused on updating its financial statements, revenue statements and data rooms to become more investable.

The BIKI – FoodCycle Indonesia partnership is an existing P4G Partnership accelerating food, water and energy transitions in countries. P4G Partnerships will top up the partnership’s grant funding and technical assistance to help it become investment ready.

Join P4G at London Climate Action Week 2026!

As the climate community gathers in London ahead of COP31, P4G is partnering with World Resources Institute and Baringa to host three invitation-only discussions focused on one critical question: How do we move climate startups from proof of concept to investable, scalable opportunities?
