Jonathan Meiburg will join Prof. Kip Lornell’s Ethnomusicology seminar Tuesday 10 March, 12:45 - 2:00 pm, Phillips Hall B120‬, to explore sustainable music-making + tracks from The Secret Museum of Mankind, a wild and mysterious compilation of early musical recordings from around the world. The full 8-volume set is available on Spotify, and held in reserve in Gelman Library on CD. But no homework required!

‪Monday 9 March, 7:15 - 8:30 pm, Thurston Hall Piano Lounge‬.
Meiburg's band Shearwater has released nine studio albums for Matador and Sub Pop records, including Palo Santo, Rook, The Golden Archipelago, Animal Joy, Fellow Travelers, and Jet Plane & Oxbow. In 2018 they re-created ‪David Bowie‬’s“Berlin” Trilogy of albums for WNYC’s New Sounds program (available on Bandcamp). Meiburg has collaborated with ‪ ‬, ‪ ‬, & ‬, and toured with ‪ , , , ‪ ‬, and ‪ ‬, and co-founded the band with members of .
