Warwick stabbing victim urges state to deny attacker’s parole 07/17/2025

I chose to speak out in this interview not just for myself, but because I believe that violent crimes like this demand accountability. Survivors deserve safety and justice — and our communities do too.
This is not just my story. It's a reminder that our sentencing laws, parole policies, and public safety priorities affect real people. And we all have a say in what we tolerate.
I’m asking you to not only hear my voice but to use your voice. Contact your local and state elected officials. Demand tougher sentencing guidelines and stronger protections against early release for violent offenders. And when it comes time to vote, remember who stood up for survivors — and who didn’t.
This is our community and I’m no longer a scared highschool kid, I’m a strong woman who can use her voice to speak out for what’s right, and I urge all my peers who believe in justice, fairness, and the safety of our kids and communities to use their voice and advocate along side me. The parole hearing is on Monday the 21st at 8:30 @ 12 Halligan Rd, Cranston RI. This is an open invitation for anyone in the community who would like to come and support me in fighting to deny his parole and advocate for longer sentencing.

Warwick stabbing victim urges state to deny attacker’s parole Alyssa Garcia was only 18 years old when she was nearly stabbed to death by a complete stranger.
