There have been three separate evacuations this week on the Knight campus. The Unfiltered Lens got in contact with Lieutenant Kurowski of campus security to get details about the incidents on the 13th, 14th, and 15th.
Tuesday – The alarm went off around 4 p.m., caused by the fumes from the paint and other chemicals used in the renovation of the auditorium. A hit-and-run accident occurred during this time at the crosswalk by the faculty parking lot. If anyone has any information about the accident, please forward it to campus security.
Wednesday – At 9:40 a.m. student Jordyn Payne, who was manning the bake sale, saw smoke coming from the closet on the second floor entrance and pulled the fire alarm. A transformer in electrical closet blew and caused a small fire.
Thursday – Students were evacuated at 10 a.m. due to a sensitive fire alarm. An older heater in one of the ground floor rooms was turned on and security believes that it was a combination of dust and sudden heat that set off the sensitive, new alarm.
