Community cat peeps, help us help you!
We can only keep the costs down and continue to spay/neuter as many cats as we do with your help. Every time someone doesnโt follow the rules, it makes it tougher for staff, causing delays, frustration and more staff time. That all equals big trouble in ensuring the Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program remains viable.
The rules are simple and clear:
- TNR is for outdoor cats getting returned outside. Abuse of using TNR for pets or cats to be adopted will result in termination of services.
- Check for a left eartip before your appointment. Eartipped cats are already sterilized.
- Cats must come in traps, not carriers. We are unable to transfer cats to traps, or loan you traps for a transfer in the morning.
- Traps must be standard cat or Fat Cat size. No rodent traps. Preferred size is roughly 30 inches long, 11 โ 14 inches high and 9 โ 12 inches wide. Smaller than this is not accepted. We loan traps.
- Traps must be completely covered. Large bath towels, or bed sheets cut to size work well.
- Remove everything inside but the puppy/potty pad prior to arrival. No food, dishes, cat litter, towels, etc.
- Trap doors must be secured with something that can quickly be removed. Zip ties or carabiner clips/quick release clips work well. Tru Catch traps have a door on each end.
- Follow the clinic check-in and check-out times unless previously arranged with a manager at the clinic.
Every rule has an important reason behind it that helps us function.
Help us spread the word to everyone TNRing. We appreciate all you do for the cats and hope to get to continue helping you.
