During a recent home inspection i found a safety issue. There weren't any GFCIs in the kitchen so close to the sink. GFCIs protect against shorts that occur in your electrical system. A ground fault occurs when electrical current suddenly gains a new, shorter, path to ground. This is the reason that GFCIs are always installed near water. If the reason for the ground fault involves you becoming the short, severe electrical shock and burns are the end result. Bathrooms, Kitchen counters, Garages and outdoor lines are just a few places you should have GFCIs installed.
