It celebrates their lifesaving service, raises public awareness, and honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. National Fallen Firefighters Day, May 3rd, 2026 (often observed during the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend) is a designated time, usually the first weekend in May, to honor firefighters who died in the line of duty. It represents a national commitment to recognize their sacrifice, support their families, and lower flags to half-staff to mark their sacrifice 🇺🇸
