Noa Mori Machover of Waltham, Massachusetts, graduated in May, 2026, with a masters in the dual landscape architecture and fine arts program in the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. They have been offered a Fulbright to research and conduct an exhibition in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, studying the relational landscapes of platinum-group metals as they blur boundaries between formal and informal commodity supply chains.

Waltham Public Schools won a $60,000 Civics Teaching and Learning Grant from the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, which will fund new civics programming over the next two years.

Kathleen M. (O’Connell) Fogg, of Waltham, died at home on Sunday, June 28, 2026 following a period of declining health. She was 76.
She moved to Waltham in 1984 following her marriage to Steve Fogg. Until her retirement she enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Waltham.

Some of Waltham’s businesses may need to keep an eye on their dumpsters.
Health inspectors spotlighted some kind of improper dumpster protocol, from broken equipment to missing plugs, in more than half of failed late-spring inspections at retail and restaurant locations around the city.

The proposed station would be built on Jones Road and would replace the Kendal Green commuter rail station in Weston, just west of the town’s border with Waltham.
MBTA spokesperson Maya Bingaman in June confirmed that the agency approved a memorandum of understanding with real estate company BXP Inc., Waltham and Weston to collaboratively search for grants to pay for the project.

Summer nights are perfect for a free outdoor movie on the historic Lyman Estate grounds. Come early to walk the landscape, explore the c. 1793 mansion, have a picnic, and enjoy pre-show musical entertainment by the Waltham High School show band. The mansion opens at 7:00 p.m.
Please bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets. In the event of rain, the movie will be shown indoors. Candy and drinks are available for sale. Alcohol is not permitted.
