We've had an owl that has been visiting and killed a bird early Thursday morning. I found her and thanked the heavens it was an old hen and not a new layer. Saturday morning, I heard a commotion and went running to find that one of the young roos was missing. I found a pile of feathers under the tree he roosts in and after a thorough search of the yard and around the perimeter, another pile in the front yard. Hes a big boy so I was surprised I couldn't find a body. I expanded my search and found a third larger pile in the neighbor's yard but still no body. Well, in today's downpour, I went out to treat the birds to some veggies and who did I find? Yep! He is a little beat up, missing some feathers and shaking his head quite a bit but he's alive and hungry. He's secured a place in our flock for as long as he wants to be here. He selected his own name today. Meet Miracle!
