Backyard Custom Rods

Well, 2024 is in the books and this was a year that I really thought I was going to slow down. We counted my work orders for the year and I built a total of 418.  I called my good friend Stuart Crawford from Mudhole Custom Tackle and he told me that I finished 14th overall in total sales out of over 1500 wholesale customers in my group. Not too bad for a one man show that still builds them by hand with no electric winders.  I would just like to thank everyone who gave me the opportunity to build them a custom fishing rod this year I greatly appreciate it.

Now for the big news, 2025 will be my last year of building rods. I have been building rods for over 28 years and have been in business since 2007. I still enjoy building rods and meeting new folks but it's time. I will be attending the Edgemere Bait and Tackle fishing expo February 1 and 2nd, and I will have 10 rods that I have built for sale more to come on that later Looking forward to see what 2025 has in store for me. 

What an incredible year Backyard Custom Rods and Repairs had this year. I cannot think everyone that put confidence in me to build them a custom rod. We added up the totals and I had a record year of building 452 rods. Not too bad for a one man show and I still build them by hand no electric winders. I'm not sure but 2024 "Might" be my last year, 2024 marks my 28th year of building rods.

Sixgill is offering their Autism reels again this year. I missed out last year but I just ordered 2 spinning reels. If you are looking for a nice rod to match the colors of the reel, my wife came up with a great color scheme. I've built 3 so far, so if your interested in getting one let me know.
