We see a huge need for better education in our current drug-addicted culture, and as soon as we think we are all in the know of the latest drug, a new drug hits the scene with new marketing masking its dangers. Some of which are legal and easily purchased by our youth, even directly marketed to them.

"Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. - James 1:13-15

Sin is painted innocently on the exterior, but the reality will enslave. Sounds very familiar to the Christian. Satan masquerading as an angel of light, promising life when he can only ever offer death. Sin is often portrayed as desirable or harmless, whispering "just this once," but it quickly evolves from a choice into a cage, enslaving rather than freeing.

“Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end” - Hebrews 3:12-14

Seeking the eternal instead of the temporal.

We promised we would share more of Sam Wilson’s heart, and we can’t think of a better time than on his birthday. Sam communicates what he has come to know is THE KEY to sobriety, while tearfully expressing that he shouldn’t even be alive today. As we wish Sam a happy birthday, we can’t help but see the gospel on display. What a beautiful testament of Gods grace and mercy.

As the lights and the Christmas cookies and the gift giving become overwhelming, we want to take a moment to remember why we have true joy this season.

Who better to remind us than our very own, Danny Aguirre!

It's always a struggle to encompass a man's whole life story and future trajectory in a time short enough for the public to digest, but we do our best to give you the broad view, placing emphasis on how great our God is.

One thing that always remains true is that the main character of every testimony shared is the Lord. We wouldn’t want it any other way.

Danny found CHM at his lowest, came into a transforming relationship with Christ, and has stayed the course for two and a half years, not only sober, but living a life ambitious to be pleasing to Christ.

“Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:9
