Brands evolve. The best ones bring their story with them.

When this local brewery expanded beyond its original Koholā Brewery identity, it was time for the brand to grow with it. The result: Lāhainā Brewing Company — a name that better reflects the company today while staying connected to its roots.

Rather than starting over, we built a bridge between past and future. The bold sans-serif typography and red from the original brand were refined into a more modern system, with a warmer red inspired by Lāhainā dirt and a deep brown that replaces the colder industrial black.

The new icon was inspired by a familiar Maui perspective — being out on the water and looking back toward the West Maui Mountains. Those wave forms also became a repeating pattern throughout the visual identity.

Each location received its own color story tied to place:
Wailea in ocean blue.
Upcountry in jacaranda purple.

And the original Koholā name lives on through their flagship beers as the Koholā Series.

A brand expansion rooted in place, history, and where the company is headed next.
