Whimsy summer, 6.8.26.

my summers growing up were full of pool days with my cousins. my mom would drop me off for the day, we would pick out our mermaid names, color schemes, grab anything that sparkled & could be thrown in the water, and a world was created.
I vividly remember diving to the bottom of the pool, staring at the shiny blue tiles, tracing them, willing them to become magical gems that would save us from an evil curse. Sunset would come around, the water sparkled, and it was another day of saving our mermadia land.
if i close my eyes i can still feel the cuts i would get from those tiles while getting out of the pool, throwing the comfiest softest tee on, and hurrying in the car with soaked hair. begging my mom to drop me off again the next day.
