Our first year without our Catherine

It’s impossible to think back on this time last year without considering the outpouring of support we received from all of you. In the face of the most tragic event our family has ever endured, you continue to bolster us up even now. We know Cat is looking down with a huge smile seeing her listeners checking in on her loved ones, especially Loren.

Speaking of Loren…

The healing journey is long, but he is still making strides. His schedule is packed full with piano recitals, basketball games, birthday parties, and travel. He still misses his mother dearly while living a life full of adventure. After all, she’s the one who taught him to wonder.

There’s a hole left in our hearts from when Cat passed, but Loren’s massive presence fills the gap more and more each day.

It was on Cat’s bucket list to see the Aurora Borealis (northern lights). Sadly, that box remained unchecked when she passed.

Today, Loren is in Fairbanks, Alaska with his Grandma Pippy and his Uncle Cubby hunting down the auroras to check that box for his mother while a new moon politely hides away on the anniversary of Cat’s passing.
