Wade & Carter

CONFESSION: I'm different than Ash. We aren't built the same when it comes to "hate" on the show. He is much more mature and just rolls with it while I typically want everyone to like me (not possible, I know) and often acquiesce even when I'm correct to get along.

With that said, I am keenly aware there are those (attention wh**es) who simply provide the counter position to everything we say in order to draw attention to themselves. At least one of these folks is actually brilliant, has been electable (not anymore), and has done positive things in our community. I am guilty of applying my nature to these people thinking they can be reasoned with...to the point of personally reaching out to the worst offender, to no avail.

It took me accepting that the effort I made, the selfless act of reaching out, the "touch" if you will was what they really craved. Their logic is, "If I'm an ass on the program, then I get the attention of Carter and Wade." Sad, but true and observable.

I researched the great Rush Limbaugh's thoughts on mindless haters, and found an accurate statement: "When you're #1, folks will try to get attention off of you. Ignore those folks, they will still listen because they want to be near #1." If it's good enough for Mr. Limbaugh, it's surely applicable to Wade and Carter.

We are blessed by 99% of our listeners...they stay on the subject, fact check us and further the conversation. To have the old, irrelevant and washed up haters on the sidelines won't hurt the program a bit. Welcome to the best hour in radio, anywhere around here!!
