Hello our valued crossroad neighbors, friends and customers.. I never wanted to post our final goodbye but it’s here and happening!!
I got an ugly post from someone that we do owe money to and I feel it’s necessary for me to give you Swamp meat side...take it as you will but these are the facts!
When a business opens they expect the community wants it and will support. Victoria has done just that!!
We had many contractors that took us for all they could and did NOT Do the jobs correctly.
We were made to pay fines even though we had no clue what permits were even required. That was our mistake in not being more knowledgeable!!! We partnered with the wrong people trusting their knowledge and believing that we would have added resources and help us be successful..that did not happen!
We accept our failure and yes we owe Victoria Electric money still as well as Skips the remainder of our balance!! We have reached out to both of them to work with us however, a few wanted more that we could actually provide!! Not Skips!!!
When a vendor requires “ work with you payments” that hinders paying the everyday bills to stay alive it’s impossible.
Please understand these few that have balances with swamp meat began with were very high and we worked diligently to pay it!!
We do not owe Many!! We owe very few however, it’s pay that or get supplies somedays and we could not keep up!!
We appreciate Skips for helping us and have reached out to get that resolved even though it seems we paid for some items a few times over!!
We had to meet many city requirements ( which we did but they were costly due to the initial contractor doing everything wrong and costing us more) the City Of Victoria did their job..we just did not have the means to fix all that was wrong initially.
I used my personal check to fund most things sacrificing all we had....our home...credit and now vehicles!! That’s ok. We signed up for it!
My husband hasn’t taken a check since we opened in the hopes that we get debt paid off and can just provide cajun food to the crossroads!
It has been hard and we are so sorry we could not make it happen but we have NEVER neglected to try and repay any debts!!
We weren’t trying to be millionaires matter of fact all of us held other jobs while doing swamp meat as well!
These are the facts!! The ones we trusted to help us fell through Did not!!! That’s that!!
Our friends and family have helped all they can or will ask anymore and the one person that has helped and been hindered so much has been Torin Bales trying to give us a chance and causing him more hardship than anyone!! Jc Zepplin lent us a stuffer and grinder that has literally kept us going and we have yet to afford another one!
We were told by a former partner he would provide that yet could not. We could not afford these things after just opening and could not even make sausage or smoke it. There have been more set backs than we could handle or anticipate.
We opened in May.... not years ago and never wanting to put anyone else in a bind!! Not ever!!
We have decided to just “stop the bleeding” and give in. Thank you Bobby Medina and family for trying to come in and help keep us up but it was just too late for us at this point!
I only ask that the crossroads forgive our failure and never listen to anyone that wished ill on us after only a few hundred dollar balances that started in the high thousands balances.
