Meet Ian Nevarez, our Senior Director of Development & Communications!

Ian brings nearly 20 years of experience in affordable housing and the nonprofit sector, leading fundraising, communications, grant strategy, and community engagement efforts that help organizations expand their impact.

His passion for this work began with the understanding that growing up in a stable home was a privilege, and that access to safe, affordable housing is essential to helping individuals and families thrive. That belief has guided his career and continues to shape his commitment to building stronger, more equitable communities.

Today, Ian leads Venice Community Housing’s development and communications efforts, helping connect supporters, partners, and community members to our mission while building the resources needed to create more affordable homes and provide services that help residents thrive.

We’re grateful to have Ian on the team and excited for all that’s ahead. Welcome, Ian!

Big news for affordable housing in California! 🎉

The Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2026 has officially passed the Legislature and will appear on the November ballot.

Venice Community Housing is proud to support this historic measure, which would invest $11.25 billion in affordable housing, supportive housing, homelessness solutions, veteran housing, and homeownership opportunities across California.

For communities facing rising housing costs and a severe shortage of affordable homes, this represents an important opportunity to invest in housing that helps people thrive.

We’re grateful to the advocates and legislators who helped move this measure forward, and we’re hopeful that California voters will support this critical investment in our communities this November. Stay tuned for our progressive voter guide ahead of the election!
