Teen Advisory Board April Meeting
Friday, April 3rd
4:00 - 5:00 PM
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) accepts new applications from August through the end of November each school year. If you are interested in helping the library, getting involved in your community, and having fun with your friends, please fill out an application and return it to the Fern Ridge Library!
All prospective TAB applicants must be 13 -18 years old to apply.
What is TAB? TAB is a volunteer program where teens plan Middle School Meet-up & High School Scene events and help run teen programs!
Who can join TAB? TAB is open to teens 13 - 18 who attend public school, private school, or home school.
How often does TAB meet? TAB meets once a month for a planning session. Members also help set up & clean up on event days of the Middle School Meet-Ups and High School Scene programs.
How do I join TAB? TAB applications for the 2025-26 school year are currently closed. New applicants are welcome to apply for the 2026-27 school year beginning August 2026.

LEGO Club

3:30 - 5:30 PM
April Theme: Build a Secret Zoo Exhibit and see if you can guess other animal builds!
LEGO Club is an Elementary Explorers program for kids in Kindergarten - 5th grade that focuses on ingenuity and creativity. At LEGO Club children are challenged to build to a theme and work on developing the following skills:
- teamwork & communication - patience and organization -constructive problem solving & lateral thinking - fine motor control - spatial awareness - focus & concentration
This program runs for approximately 2 hr.

Homeschool Game Club

1:00 - 3:00 PM
Calling homeschool families with youths 8+ to join us! Games, supplies, and snacks provided!
What does a Game Club do for kids?
A game club for kids provides a fun, structured environment to build social skills, teamwork, and critical thinking through play, acting as a neutral space for kids to connect over shared interests like board games, learn sportsmanship, and develop problem-solving abilities while getting together with like-minded homeschool families!

Teen (ages 13+) Book Club

5:15 - 6:15 PM
*In the Teen Area
No required titles to read, just read to the theme and get a chance to discuss awesome books with your peers!
Since we weren't able to meet in March our theme for April is to read books 1 and 2 of a series! Or discuss 2 books you've read recently!
