LAST DAY to explore On the Wing at Outstanding In Its Field Gallery, today from Noon to 5pm. Fourteen Vashon artists examine our avian friends from the sky to the branch, including cast-glass and enamel jewelry from Julia Gombert, Sue Hardy's etchings, painter Sarah Edwards and Charlotte Masi's whimsical sculptures.

The show also includes watercolors, ceramics, photography, Metal sculpture, oils, baskets, and pastels. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Vashon Bird Alliance.

The Gallery is located at 10524 S.W. 188th St, just west of Sawbones, and will be open Saturdays and Sundays, Noon – 5 pm, and weekdays by appointment by calling 206.419.0199.

The First Saturday celebration, September 6, from 5 pm to 8 pm, will include the chance to meet the artists, enjoy fresh-baked treats, and a free performance by Gus Reeves in the gallery’s party pasture. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets or camp chairs.
