Here's what we, as a country are up against for Rio Olympic games. GBR has just increased their Olympic budget by 17%, bringing the total amount to be spent developing GBR Olympic athletes over the next 4-years to £30.4 million, that converts to 49,412,160.00 US Dollars.

This article is very insightful as Theo Bos points out the differences between a well funded, 8-year plan for British track athletes and they rest of the world, and how that leads to huge advantages for a single nation.
The simple reality is most nations can't afford track, yet track is where 3/4 of all the Olympic medals are, so it's a catch 22.
I think more track trade teams are going to have to be built to help the track athlete survive, but that is going to take reform and a shift in industry thinking.
