My brother Doug and I have a pretty healthy sibling rivalry.

If by "healthy", I mean "OK, Bro, let's see whatchoo got!"

The night before Doug entered the USAF, his trick Ford Fairlane 500 met with an errant lamp post. (Thank God the Statute of Limitations is over...;-)

Not to be outdone, a year or so later, the night before my enlistment in the USAF, I merely ended up at 60mph spinning wildly in my Mazda RX-3 hotrod (January cold+light rain+Bluestreak Racing Slicks) until it barely stopped, ass-end toward the cliffs overlooking the local rock quarry turned swimming hole.

Imagine the the white-knuckles and heartbeats. Yeah.

So, recently my Big Bro trekked from Nicaragua, where he runs a very cool school/mission/church, to just east of Dallas/Fort Worth to a 3-acre parcel of land and home.

Only to be met with classic Texan storm weather, and the torturing of his new home. Thankfully, nobody got hurt.

Nary a month later, last night, in fact, Chasity and I faced our own reckoning of sorts: 60 mph winds and incessant ball-lightning downed the power flow, and three major branches graced our new deck, driveway, and the neighbor's home.

Thankfully, the Air Conditioning returned before 1AM, and the tree that gave up her branches elegantly missed our cars. And, as you can see, the damage to the house might be a tad below the deductible.

Doug wins this one.
But the day is young...
