The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is introducing major changes to import compliance requirements.

📅 Key Deadlines:

• July 8, 2026 – Mandatory electronic filing of CPSC product certificate data at time of entry into the U.S. – Requirement expands to goods entering through Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs).

Importers of CPSC-regulated products — including toys, electronics, appliances, furniture, and more — should begin preparing now.

What’s changing?

✔️ Product certificate data will need to be filed electronically

✔️ Importers will use the new CPSC Product Registry

✔️ Customs brokers will need Product Code Version Numbers during entry filing

✔️ Updated testing may require product revalidation in the registry
