You may have heard that home sales are down this year.
That's true—but it's not the whole story.

Here's what's happening right now in Prince George's County:

🏡 1,953 Active Listings
🚧 150 Coming Soon Listings
✅ 1,240 Homes Pending or Under Contract

That means more than 1,200 buyers have already found a home and signed a contract.

Year-to-date, 3,389 homes have sold, compared to 4,243 at this same point last year.

That's about a 20% decrease in closed sales.

So what changed?
Affordability continues to be a challenge, causing some buyers to take longer to make a decision.
The encouraging news? Several down payment assistance programs have recently been replenished, and lenders are introducing additional options that may help qualified buyers get back into the market.

For sellers, don't mistake fewer closings for a lack of buyers.
The buyers who are prepared are still buying.

The key is making sure your home is the one they choose.
