So you just got your Covid-19 vaccine. Is it then OK to toast the occasion with a drink or two?
Drinking too much alcohol before or after the COVID-19 vaccine could end up worsening whatever side effects you may get from the vaccine.
So should you completely avoid alcohol before and after getting the vaccine?
While there isn't any evidence that having a drink or two can render the COVID vaccine less effective, experts advise against drinking immediately after receiving the shot. Of course, once you're fully vaccinated, the normal everyday alcohol recommendations should apply. That means no more than mild-to-moderate drinking. Excessive drinking can still impair your immune system, so know your limits and don't get wasted.
