With the sudden and unexpected resignation of our beloved Director, St. Clair County Animal Control would like to sincerely thank Director Miller for her incredible six years of service and dedication.

During her time with us, Director Miller helped create safer, more humane communities through compassion, education, and forward-thinking leadership. Under her direction, the return-to-owner rate increased from less than 30% to over 60%, and the live release rate rose from approximately 50% to more than 85%.

She also established the CARES Pantry, a vital program that has helped keep more than 300 pets in their homes over the past two years by providing much-needed resources and support to families in our community.

Director Miller brought trust, transparency, and humanity to a department that had long struggled with public perception due to past practices. Her leadership helped rebuild community confidence and laid a strong foundation for the future.

Our staff remains deeply committed to continuing the programs, standards, and compassionate approach she worked so hard to create. We ask for your patience and support as we navigate this transition and move forward together.
