Mad Science BMX

I love building these bikes for whomever plans on riding them, but it is extra special when they are being passed on to the next generation to enjoy, appreciate, and carry on the legacy of Old-school BMX bikes. Here's the lucky recipient of my latest project, looking stylish on his kick-ass Hutch!

These are my BMX roots, the top one was a dark red color, otherwise the same:

Polished up an old stem and painted the hardware. Not sure I like the red. One on the right is a little better than the one on the left before I started.

This came in for a functional restoration. This is original paint and decals. It has new brake cables, pads, calipers & Levers(for color). It has new tubes and tires, new Skyway mags, because he always wanted them, but I got the original 48 spoke Joy tech wheels going too. New headset and bottom bracket for smoothness, an Izumi chain, some cam-cam grips and it's a rolling machine! Essentially a new bike!
I find most of these old freestyle bikes to be beautiful, but oddly balanced and overly cumbersome for my type of riding. I can not say that about this bike. It's as light and nimble as a race model. Last few pictures are before. 1987 Kuwahara Magician EX
