All Star Asian Buffet
Hi everyone. The wait is over. We are done with our remodeling and today is our first day back. We welcome everyone back to dine with us.
Recently there has been word going around that our establishment serves pigeons because of the pigeons left at the back of the restaurant. Those pigeons were a gift from my uncle to my niece and two of the pigeons are sent to my dad’s friend in Georgia. Those are racing and show pigeons, which my uncle raised. Everyone who knows my family also knows that my family and I work at the restaurant 12 hours a day, everyday, so that was the only place my uncle could leave them at at the time.
Although pigeons, as well as pheasants and quails, are a part of poultry meats that are serve at some restaurant, and you can buy pigeon meats (called squab) from specialty stores and online, they costs more than a prime steak per pound. Our buffet costs $7.99 and $10.99 all you can eat, it is pretty costly to serve them. That is one reason why we wouldn’t or don’t serve pigeon meat.
Second reason: Racing pigeons and pigeons breed for competitions would cost upwards of $1000 and even more per bird at their prime, which was what was in the picture circulating around on Facebook.
And lastly, we brought frog legs (tastes like chicken), sushi (still remembering people said “eeww raw fish” back in the day), and crawfish to Uniontown during the last 23 years here (back then at China wok and now at All Star), we wouldn’t need to hide about serving something new and exotic.
I will post two pictures to prove that I sent the pigeons out or else there are people who would think this is all made up. First picture is when the postal office didn’t get the bird on time to board the plane (I know sounds silly) the second one is one that was sent to Georgia.
And for the person that took the picture and spread the false statement about my family’s business: I could bring a defamation lawsuit against you, please don’t spread false information until you know the truth.
