الحمد الله والصلاة والسلام على رسول وعلى آله وأصحابه أجمعين

‎لْفُقَرَاءِ الَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِي�الْأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ لَا يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيم

[Charity is] for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah, unable to move about in the land. An ignorant [person] would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their [characteristic] sign. They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. And whatever you spend of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.

Take advantage of this 27th night of Ramadan and obtain the multiplied rewards of Ramadan and hopefully the reward of Laylatul Qadr - the night of power whose rewards is better than a thousand months. Charity benefits the giver just as the much as the one who is given. Giving in charity purifies the heart as well as saves you from calamities. It frees your heart from the dunya and brings your attention towards the next life. May Allah make us among those give generously in support of the people of knowledge, the poor, and the weak.

Blankets of Barakah

The cold in Mauritania is extremely difficult for the poor and fuqara. While we in the West are protected by insulated homes, heaters, and warm bedding, many of the people we are helping live in tent with fabric walls, with little protection from the cold.

In Shaa Allah, let us do what we can to provide blankets and bring warmth and relief to those in need. Every contribution makes a difference.

The Prophet said, peace and blessings be upon him,

‎مَنْ نَفَّسَ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ الدُّنْيَا نَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ يَسَّرَ عَلَى مُعْسِرٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا يَسَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمَنْ سَتَرَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا سَتَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَاللَّهُ فِي عَوْنِ الْعَبْدِ مَا كَانَ الْعَبْدُ فِي عَوْنِ أَخِيهِ

"Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens of the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother." (Tirmidhi)
