In the early hours on Tuesday June 6 Russian forces blew up the Nova Kakhovka dam, which has been under their control for over a year now.

Over 80 settlements in the region are in danger of flooding. More than 16,000 people are in the flooded zone. Thousands flee for their lives.

President Zelensky called the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka HPP the largest man-made environmental disaster in Europe in decades.

Some terrible news came from the UK today!

It appears that 200 asylum-seeking children went missing from the hotels run by the Home Office. These children fled their own countries escaping danger and travelled unaccompanied. The UK press suggests that some children may have been taken by human trafficking gangs. While the authorities are investigating the children's whereabouts, concerns continue to grow about the safety of children and families escaping war zones. Too often instead of shelter they find predators and new dangers on their way.

We are deeply troubled by these news. More has to be done today to protect vulnerable children and families of war refugees.

Hundreds of Ukrainian families, many with children under 16, flee for their lives every day while the war continues. They need all the help they can get. Can you offer them a safe place to stay?
