👷‍♂️ “I was a mason, working hard to feed my family. Then blindness took everything.”

For two long years, Aliba Mojolouwe from the Bafilo region of Togo lived in darkness. His wife left, his work stopped, and he depended on his siblings for everything.

When Sight.org’s mobile team arrived, Aliba received free cataract surgery that restored his vision—and his hope.

💬 “Now I’ve rediscovered the joy of living and the smile of my twins. I can work again and live without anyone’s help. God bless the people who made this possible.”

Because of this transformation, Aliba’s family is thriving again.

SEBO’S STORY | Northern Togo, Africa

For three years, Sebo’s vision faded until he could no longer farm—the only work he had ever known. “I forced myself to keep working,” he said, “but eventually, I became a burden for my brother and my son.”

Even through blindness, his family and friends stood by him. “They never abandoned me,” Sebo said. “They cared for me and visited often so I wouldn’t feel alone.”

When Sight.org arrived in his region, hope returned. “The doctors were joyful and kind. The surgery was free—I didn’t believe it until I saw it was true.”

Today, Sebo’s sight is restored. “Now that I can see, I feel free again, and my family feels free too. May God bless everyone who made this possible.”
