Fun Fact Friday! ❤️

Starburst, 2 years old.

No matter where you work, you’re always going to have a favorite coworker, student, patient, client, or animal. We love all our animals very much. But Starburst has won the title of Megan’s (herd manager) favorite alpaca! I was at the farm the day Starburst was born. Right from the start, this girl was filled with sass. She was already so strong at only an hour old. She had a very rough start to her life. Because of this, she had to grow up really fast. She had to learn how to do things that the other babies didn’t. She struggled to gain weight. She struggled to make friends. She struggled to find her place in this world. But I was always there to cheer her on.

Today, Starburst is spoiled rotten. That’s partially my fault! 😆 She is incredibly friendly and sweet. She’s also kind of bossy… but she has friends now! It’s so much fun to watch her run around and play with the other alpacas. If you visit the farm, you’ll notice that Starburst’s face looks a little different than the others. She cut her lip on a fence when she was only a few weeks old. It never healed correctly, so she looks a little unique! But that makes her even more special.

Love you, Miss Starburst! No matter how old you are or how much you grow, I’ll always have your back. Never stop being you!

Fun Fact Friday! ❤️

Morena, 2 years old.

When I think of Morena, the word outgoing comes to mind. She wants to be the center of attention all the time! She wants all the pets, she wants all the love. When we have big tour groups come to the farm, we bring the alpacas into the barn for everyone to meet and to feed them snacks. Morena will take a quick look throughout the barn, she picks the perfect spot, and sits right down. Usually it’s by a group of people so she can get some scritches! She’s also learned that if you stand on your back two feet, people will laugh and give you treats. She’s quite the girl!

Morena was born premature. She had a rough start to her life. But looking at her today, you would never guess that she arrived a few weeks early. She’s a big girl! She’s a tall girl!

To Morena, every day is a good day. No matter if it’s raining, snowing, 100 degrees, or -40 degrees. She’s going to make the best of it. We need more Morena’s in our life! Love you, sweet girl.
