Chasin' Tail Charters

Short weekend is done.
Thursday evening a wonderful strong south breeze made a 10 mile trip out take about 35 minutes We setup south of Two Rivers in 225. Turned and rode the waves back. As rough as it was, we had one on the set up unfortunately an 1 1/2 later it took to get our second bite. Bonus I left the soda cooler in the truck so no refreshments. We managed to go three for five.
Friday morning it was back to normal, found a pocket of salmon and rainbow. We worked that area nothing fast and furious but we ended up with a nice cooler. Deep Riggers and pumps at 8 to 10 oz 170 to 200 took the majority of fish
Thanks, Tim and Mark for booking. Hope to see you next year.
Always good to have Josh aboard pulling the first mate duties
Thanks mom and dad for the chicken dinner Thursday night and big breakfast Friday morning. Unfortunately we had to cancel our Friday night and Saturday morning. More wonderful South breeze

Another weekend with Chasin’ Tail Charters is in the books. From the great repeat customers to the excellent food/snacks they brought on board and shared. The bite was slow, but we managed to get some in both clients coolers. I even got the 2nd mate to drive us to the piers. 😊 I hope you all had a good time and we will see you again next year! Thanks Brian for helping out and bringing some new Dodgers that I will have to add to my collection.

Well another weekend is in the books for Chasin Tail Charters.
We took off for two weeks to do our first oversees trip. Now it was back to business on Lake Michigan.
Thursday took out a couple friends to make sure everything was in order on the boat and a little practice setting lines with my good friend and dock partner Brian. Need to work him into the first mate spot when Casey or Josh would be not available.
From everyone we talked with before heading out, the fishing slowed down a lot and a northeast wind that blew the day before was not a promising report to say the least.
Thursday night 4:30 pm to 7:45pm. One hit on a downrigger was all we had to start with for Friday morning trip.
Friday morning’s weather was in our favor so we worked the waypoint from the day before. Nothing fast and furious, but we put some good fish in the boat.
Saturday morning trip we decided to work the same water with very similar results. Action was good but shut down at 7:30 am both days. So get out early.
Thanks Josh and Brian for filling in on the first mate position. Thanks Brandon and Cal for booking and see you next year.
Sorry I didn’t get all the pics as we usually do, but a little busy working baits to get on fish. 🐟
