We adopted a precious 18 month old Dachshund from Southern California Dachshund Relief Inc. a rescue center. Her name is Trixie! Sadly we lost our Saydee in July. 2025..Sauydee was Two weeks short of her 14th birthday. Saydee was a one of a kind Dachshund and will forever be in our hearts. Now we have Trixie and Cindy and I will care for her and Love as much as we did with Saydee.
We are delighted to announce that Trixie (6046) was adopted on April 19th. Trixie, an 18-month-old, mini, came to SCDR near the end of March. A casualty of divorce and too many other pets, she never missed a beat. She came in like she owned the place and kept us on our toes the whole time.
It was very difficult to choose a family for Trixie. We were very specific about what we wanted for her new home. The number one qualification was no other pets in the home. Trixie is an alpha girl and let us know right from the start, she wanted her people all to herself. We respected that.
We were inundated with applications for Trixie. (Everyone seems to want a mini, female under 2 years old.) When Cindy and Eric's application came across my desk, I knew the search was over. They had everything we wanted for Trixie, and they were ecstatic to be chosen.
The adoption meeting was awesome. Trixie greeted Cindy and Eric like long lost family. She could barely contain her joy. There was lots of yipping, wagging, and kissing, and just plain joy all around. Trixie settled down once we started the paperwork and was an absolute angel for the mandatory adoption day picture. (I wish they were all this easy.)
Please join us in congratulating Trixie, Cindy and Eric.
