This painting lived on my easel for three weeks, unfolding slowly and lovingly. As I painted, I found myself transported to Europe — into a gentler rhythm of life where hands are held, beauty is noticed, and time softens.

Rue d’Amour reflects a longing for an unhurried, affectionate way of being: strolling through life together, surrounded by color, flowers, and warmth. It is a meditation on companionship, elegance, and the quiet intimacy of sharing life’s paths side by side with ease.

This sweet Tuscan-inspired landscape earned Third Place in Oils at Off Track Gallery — and last month it also took Second Place at North Coastal Art Gallery.

For me, there’s something about the rolling color fields, tall cypress trees, and quiet farmhouse that still makes me breathe a little deeper every time I look at it. A reminder that serenity can be homegrown — inside us, around us, and in the art we create.
