This past weekend I spent some time with my favorite pistachio farmers out in Firebaugh, CA.

While they are always ones to greet you with a smile (and a bag of pistachios), what they are not happy about these days are the Not-So-Wonderful pricing drops of pistachio crops which’re driving small farms like theirs out of business.

Next time you go shopping for your pistachios look for that label on the front. Let’s help small farmers and business by shopping locally.

Thank you Councilmember Anita D. Evans for the invite and congratulations to Mrs. Barbara Faye Nelson for being recognized for her contributions to her community
