Mar Addai Parish Turlock

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, the Diocesan Priests and Deacons Seminar convened at the Mar Gewargis Parish in Ceres. A large number of deacons from the Mar Zaia Cathedral in Modesto, Mar Gewargis Parish in Ceres, and Mar Addai Parish in Turlock gathered for the event, together with Archdeacon Auchana Kanoun, Rev. Fr. Yoshia Oraha, and Rev. Fr. Genard Lazar, who were available to attend. The seminar commenced with prayer, followed by welcoming and opening remarks delivered by Archdeacon Auchana Kanoun.

Three sessions were presented by the attending clergy:
* Liturgical Instructions Pertaining to the Diaconate — Archdeacon Auchana Kanoun.
* An Exposition on the Daily Offices of the Assyrian Church of the East — Rev. Fr. Yoshia Oraha.
* Holy Scripture and the Diaconate — Rev. Fr. Genard Lazar.

Following each session, attendees participated in discussion and a question-and-answer period, allowing for further reflection and clarification on the topics presented.

A special word of thanks is extended to the sisters of the Mar Gewargis Parish, who generously prepared and served meals for all those in attendance.
