We have been praying about the direction of our business, and the signs have become clear: it is time for us to step away from Parousia Press. We love you all and are thankful for the community we have been able to create in our little corner of the internet. It is possible that we might be able to pick things up again one day, when our children and parish don't need us as fervently, but that day is not today.

What this news means for you is that we will be closing the shop for new orders on May 1. Our resource posts will still be available through the month of May, so please check them out and save anything you find valuable.

As with all fasting seasons, we are preparing to engage with the three pillars of prayer, asceticism, and almsgiving as we enter the period known as Great Lent. Though abstaining from meat and dairy for forty days is the best-known facet of Christian fasting, it is just one portion of our larger aim: to still our tongues and judgmental thoughts in order to turn our hearts to the task of our own repentance.

But that dietary fast IS important! We have a nice long list of resources to help get you through the dietary alterations of the lenten seasons, from cookbooks and online recipes to guidance on fasting with young children.
