🚫 Fireworks Are Illegal Within Tulsa City Limits

It’s important to remember that fireworks are illegal to possess or use within Tulsa city limits.

For those celebrating outside city limits, in counties where fireworks may be permitted, please put safety first. Every year, fireworks cause preventable injuries, structure fires, grass fires, and vehicle fires.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference:
• Keep a water source nearby
• Closely supervise children
• Never use fireworks while impaired
• Light only one firework at a time
• Never attempt to relight a dud
• Dispose of used fireworks properly by soaking them in water

We want everyone to enjoy a safe and memorable Fourth of July holiday. If you’re planning to use fireworks, know the local laws where you’ll be celebrating and always put safety first.

Lieutenant Burl Nicholson, Firefighter Colman Parsons and Firefighter Kyler Stout had a great time representing the Tulsa Fire Department at the Saint Francis Tulsa Tough Kick-Off Event.

They competed in the annual Cry Baby Climb Relay Race and earned the title of “Kings of the Climb” after taking home the win. They were joined by our partner’s from Tulsa Police Department, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office (TCSO), EMSA OKLAHOMA, and Tulsa City Council members Phil Lakin, Karen Gilbert, and Anthony Archie..all of whom put on an impressive effort.

As part of the win, the team received the traveling trophy from last year’s champions, the Tulsa Police Department, along with a $1000 charitable donation. The prize money will be split between two organizations that are close to the hearts of Tulsa Firefighters: Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp and the Tulsa Firefighters Benevolent Fund.
