The Founders were classically educated. Of course, it wasn’t called “classical” back then—it was simply education.

They spent years reading Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, Virgil, Plutarch, and the Bible. They studied Latin, history, philosophy, rhetoric, logic, mathematics, and the natural world. They inherited ideas refined over centuries and learned from some of history’s greatest minds.

The same classical tradition shaped generations of artists and thinkers like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Dante, Shakespeare, Bach, Newton, and countless others whose work still inspires us today.

But why does so much of humanity’s greatest art, architecture, music, literature, and statesmanship seem to come from the past?

Because for centuries, education wasn’t primarily about job preparation. It was about cultivating wisdom, virtue, eloquence, and an appreciation for God’s truth, goodness, and beauty.

At Asbury Classical School, we’re recovering that tradition. We want our students to encounter the great ideas that have shaped Western civilization—not simply to admire the past, but to become thoughtful, virtuous men and women who will faithfully build the future.

Happy Independence Day!

Our ACS faculty and staff spent the week in Atlanta at the Association of Classical Christian Schools’ Repairing the Ruins Conference.

This annual gathering brings together classical Christian educators from around the world to grow in wisdom, sharpen their craft, and be encouraged in the shared work of cultivating truth, goodness, and beauty in the lives of students.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from outstanding speakers, connect with fellow educators, and return better equipped to serve our families and students this fall.

Happy Mother’s Day to the wonderful mothers of Asbury Classical School! 🌷

Today we were honored to host our annual Mother’s Day Tea, celebrating the women who so faithfully nurture, teach, and guide their children in truth, goodness, and beauty.

We were especially grateful for the encouragement shared by Lisa Bayless, who reflected on raising four children in classical Christian education and encouraged our mothers in the high calling of faithful motherhood.

Happy Eastertide! This is the 50 day season spanning from Easter Sunday to the birth of the Church on Pentecost Sunday.

Today students, parents, and grandparents feasted with treats and celebrated by painting eggs, making Easter crafts, and reading good books.

While Lent was a season of fasting and reflection, Eastertide is a season of joy, feasting, and living in the light of Christ’s victory over sin and death. Alleluia! 🌿

Holy Week at ACS is a quiet, reflective time. Each morning we gather for worship and read through the events of Jesus’ final week, setting aside parties and egg hunts until after Easter—because celebration follows resurrection.

We concluded on Thursday by inviting students and parents to walk through the Stations of the Cross together. Students held the thirty pieces of silver, touched the crown of thorns, nailed their sins to the cross, and tasted the vinegar—a tangible way to reflect on Christ’s suffering and the cost of our redemption. ✝️

Easter is not just a day, but a 50-day season of rejoicing leading to Pentecost!
