Details from Hiroshima Bay, one of my favorite paintings. It’s a view of the floating torii gate at the Itsukushima shrine on the shore of Miyajima with the city of Hiroshima across the bay in the background.

I could talk about this painting for hours. The way the warm gate stands out against the cool monochromatic background. Or the harsh contrast in value between pure black and the white of the paper. Ahhhh I just love it so much

health update: after 3 years of chemo I’m switching to……another chemo (yay?). The old one was keeping my cancer the same, but not making it better. Hoping the new treatment will have minimal side effects but lots of results :)

also:: if this is the first you’re hearing about this, I’m not dying. Don’t stress 🎀
