Recently a mama told me she almost didn’t book because life felt too hectic... the kids growing faster than she can keep up, fall flying by in a blur of school events, and sports.

But when we finally met for her session, the world seemed to slow down for a bit. The leaves had just begun to turn, the air was crisp, and the kids ran and laughed while she took it all in.

That’s what these sessions are for: pressing pause long enough to capture the real smiles, the little moments, the way they are right now.

For their wedding anniversary Meg and Jim decided to treat themselves to a date night of a portrait session of just the two of them. I'm absolutely in love with this couple and their relationship and so proud of them for taking the time to do something special for themselves.
It's really easy to get wrapped up in just being Mom and Dad and it's important to remind ourselves of who we are as a couple outside of being parents. And what a GIFT for our children to see photos of their parents in love.
These type of sessions absolutely get me fired up! But to get to do a session like this with Meg and Jim? That's just next level! Congrats on 16 years, friends! You all, and the love you have for one another, is truly beautiful.

I've been photographing this family since they were pregnant with their oldest. That's a 15 relationship that goes far beyond a photographer/client arrangement. My favorite part of the country is Western North Carolina and we've vacationed there multiple times. I've wanted to do something to help the communities and I've been presented with an opportunity.
