A dirty condenser coil can let the compressor get too hot and that can cause a wire to burn as well as a loose connection or a high amp draw from a loose connection. Most of the time this issue can be Repaired. But sometimes it turns out to be the end for the compressor.

Don't use too much pressure while cleaning it because you don't want to bend your fins. Just work a water hose up and down the fins and it will remove the debris.
