The older I get, the more I realize that love is one of the bravest things we do.

In a world that changes constantly, choosing one person and saying “I’m all in” is kind of… insanely courageous.

Maybe that’s why I love destination elopements so much.

They aren’t about escaping. They’re about intention… Standing at the edge of a cliff, on a windswept coastline, or beneath a sky you’ve never seen before and making a vow to choose each other every day.

No matter where life takes you next.
No matter what comes.

Just two people making a promise in a place they’ll never forget. 🥲🖤

Fun fact: this was actually an engagement session. But my goodness, does it not feel like a dang movie!?

Micro weddings on family property are some of my faves! These two killed it with the details and rolled with it so well when it started raining right as the ceremony began. Such a beautiful, meaningful day 🥲

I can appreciate a big wedding… but I think one of the most beautiful things about eloping is that it brings everything back to what truly matters most... Love, commitment, intention, and the sacredness of choosing each other.

There’s something so powerful about standing on the Northern Ireland coast with the person you love most, surrounded by nothing but God, nature, the ocean, and the wild beauty of the earth around you. The cliffs, the wind, the moody skies… it all feels timeless in a way that’s hard to explain and impossible to forget. My heart is all fluttery just thinking about it!

Ireland has had my heart for years, and documenting love there feels deeply personal to me. I would LOVE to capture your Ireland elopement. 🥹🖤

I’m for the couples who value emotion over perfection, connection over performance, and a wedding day that actually feels like them. Your story deserves to be felt, not just photographed.

Most of you called it when I announced the break… 🫣🤣

But what can I say? Since I was about 14 years old, I dreamed of having my own photography business. That dream hasn’t died… it’s just being refined.

There’s still so much I am figuring out when it comes to this part of my life. However, one thing is certain… I AM a photographer.

So I am taking on a limited number of bookings again! I’m opening up 6 spots for elopements & weddings, and 4 smaller sessions per month (includes basically anything other than weddings).

I know it hasn’t been too long, but I’ve missed you all so much. It’s good to be back. 🥲

I’ve shed a lot of tears over making this announcement. I hope these words express the sincerity of my heart.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for giving my life the most beautiful experiences and purpose throughout some of the darkest times I’ve had to go through. Thank you for being a part of my biggest dream come true.

Books have officially closed as I finish up all the sessions that have already booked and the editing that comes along with it. As of January 1, 2026, Sam Wheeler Photography will be closed for business until further notice. 🖤

I somehow don’t have a single wedding, elopement, or photoshoot booked for 2026… let’s change that, shall we?!

All Saturdays in 2026 are open!

Also… these two just welcomed a BEAUTIFUL baby girl into their lives!! Congratulations, cuties!!!
